Amenities

  • We offer four single bedrooms, which every young person can personalise upon arrival.

  • A spacious lounge, a sensory room with sensory lighting controlled with Alexa.

  • Gardens both front and rear which can offer family time and BBQs.

  • The house is beautifully decorated throughout, giving a homely feel with outdoor controlled lights.

  • Given our central location we have easy access to public transport, the bus and train station situated in the town center is a 10-minute walk, this allows our children and young people to self-travel if applicable to meet family and friends.

  • Staff and our young people extensively use the stunningly attractive beaches we have on the West Coast of Scotland. We also use the golf driving range located in Irvine.

  • There are many cafes and restaurants, local parks with amenities to use and The Galleon Sport Center is close by offering a wide range of activities.

  • The local Cinema is used regularly by our children and young people, there are five supermarkets close by and a local library.

  • The local doctor and dentist are all within walking distance.

  • We encourage our children and young people to visit the Dean Castle Country Park which covers over two hundred acres and has many activities both indoors and outdoors. The Castle itself dates to around 1350, was once owned by the Boyd family and offers tours when in season and provides educational information for the surrounding area.

  • Willow House is only 20 minutes from Ayr, and we are around 40 minutes from Glasgow which gives further stimulative experiences for everyone.

  • Willow House is open to everyone who requires to be looked after in a nurturing and loving environment.

  • At Willow House we provide both long term placements and respite support.

Staff

Once the staff have been recruited via Safer Recruitment, the staff are expected to complete a 12-month probationary with a 6-month midway review satisfactory probation period, during this period, staff are expected to complete their Willow House staff Induction.

We do a two-stage induction programme – in the first 6 months we require staff to undertake basic mandatory training and in the second 6 months we require staff to undertake more detailed training on issues like, trauma informed practice as an example.

Staff will undertake regular training as set out by The Community Connections Education and Wellbeing Group Ltd. which is to ensure the staff are equipped to effectively care and support the children and young people in our care.

Willow House is a thriving safe environment for our YP to grow
